Festus Police are investigating the attempted theft of two pickups from an Auto Zone store, 333 Festus Centre Drive. The incident happened between 5:30 p.m. May 26 and the next morning, Chief Tim Lewis reported.
He said two pickups were damaged when someone tried to break into them.
“It looked like they tried to steal the vehicles, but the vehicles have anti-theft devices on them,” Lewis said. “It’s a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado and a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado.”
Lewis said he had no estimate for the damages.
