Arnold Police recently arrested a 40-year-old Festus man for alleged disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, following a disturbance in the parking lot at the Arnold Commons retail complex.
At about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10, Arnold Police got a call about the disturbance.
The man appeared intoxicated and allegedly assaulted a female relative and damaged her vehicle, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.
After police arrived, the man ran to the nearby Value Place hotel, where he was staying and locked the door to his room, Arnold Police reported.
Officers eventually got inside the room and took the man into custody.
The woman did not want to prosecute the man for assault or property damage, so officers arrested him for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, the report said.
It was the second time that day police were called to the area for a disturbance the man allegedly had caused, according to the report.
