A 23-year-old Fenton man was arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. The man was a passenger in a car officers stopped because it didn’t have license plates, Arnold Police reported.

At about 5:25 p.m. April 14, officers stopped the 2008 Mazda 6 in the 300 block of Plaza Way. A 23-year-old Cedar Hill woman was driving the car, and she was released at the scene with a warning to get plates for the car, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.

The man, who was in the front passenger seat, was wanted by St. Louis County Police on a warrant for felony possession of an illegal substance. He was arrested, and officers allegedly found a glass pipe with residue in his pocket. He also allegedly had a bag in his left sock filled with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth, the report said.

The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and held for St. Louis County Police. Depending on results of drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Valentine said.
