A 22-year-old Fenton man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at a home in the 2300 block of Maxville Lane in Arnold. The woman suffered injuries to her head and face, Arnold Police reported.

Officers got a call around 8:45 p.m. Oct. 20 about a physical disturbance at the home. When officers arrived, the alleged victim, a 23-year-old Arnold woman, told them that her boyfriend assaulted her after becoming upset while talking with her and his father, a 62-year-old Arnold man, the report said.

The woman told police her boyfriend was displaying erratic and paranoid behavior. The alleged victim said she attempted to leave the home, but her boyfriend stopped her, according to the report.

The woman said her boyfriend was trying to force her into a room in the house, but the suspect’s mother, a 49-year-old Arnold woman, stopped him. However, while the mother got between her son and the alleged victim, he allegedly pushed his mom down and attacked his girlfriend, Arnold Police reported.

When officers arrived at the home and arrested the suspect, he allegedly admitted to pushing his mother. The suspect also allegedly kicked at officers and hit his head against the patrol car’s window, the report said.

Officers calmed the man and took him to the Police Station, where he reportedly became irritated during the booking process and yelled that he was having chest pains and made suicidal threats. The man was transported to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he allegedly kicked at hospital staff members and officers, so he was sedated, according to the report.

Police said the alleged victim drove herself to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, where she was treated for her injuries. No injuries were reported for the suspect’s father or mother.

Arnold Police will seek charges against the suspect through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for third-degree domestic violence and resisting arrest, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
