A 35-year-old Fenton man wanted on warrants allegedly was found with illegal drugs during a traffic stop in Arnold. The man was pulled over on Old Lemay Ferry Road near Richardson Road, Arnold Police reported.
At about 7 p.m. March 29, officers pulled over the man, who was driving a 2003 Volvo S60, because he was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Louis County Police on warrants. He was wanted on felony warrants for failure to appear in court. The driver also was wanted in Arnold on two warrants, the report said.
After arresting the man, an Arnold Police dog indicated illegal substances could be in the car, and officers allegedly found one bag of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, two loaded syringes and 11 capsules containing white powder. The man was taken to the Police Station, where an officer allegedly discovered another bag in the man’s sock containing what appeared to be meth, according to the report.
The man was booked and held for one of the other arresting agencies. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and trying to bring a controlled substance into a jail, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
