Jeremy John Nathaniel Gehl, 26, who lives in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, has been accused of hitting and choking a woman at his home. He also refused to let the woman leave his house, according to court documents.
Gehl has been charged with felony second-degree domestic assault and second-degree kidnapping. He was arrested March 2, and was being held on a $10,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records show.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called March 2 to a home in the 700 block of North Low View Drive. The woman, who had been in a relationship with Gehl, told deputies Gehl took her car keys and grabbed her when she tried to leave the house, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.
The woman said Gehl slapped her and choked her during the altercation, the report said.
Gehl allegedly told deputies he dragged the woman by her hair and broke her cell phone, according to the report.
