Numerous family heirlooms recently were stolen from a home in the 1700 block of Moloney Drive in the Pevely area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The victim told deputies the items were stolen between Aug. 3 and Aug. 17, the day she reported the theft.
She also said she had been holding an estate sale so she could sell some of her deceased father’s belongings, and had hired a company to help with the sale, the report said.
Stolen items included 12 sterling silver spoons, eight Stanley wooden planes, a carved ivory German head pipe, a wool World War II U.S. Marine Corps blanket, a Packard hood ornament and a wooden tool box. In all, the items were valued at $2,180, according to the report.
The victim told deputies she suspected someone in the theft. As of Aug. 21, however, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
