A 37-year-old Leslie man is being sought by Eureka Police in connection with the alleged theft of two HP Pavilion Silver Iridium laptops from the Walmart Supercenter. The laptops were stolen at about 9 p.m. March 3, authorities reported.
Surveillance footage shows the man arriving at the store in a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo, which was registered to an address in Pacific where a woman who allegedly had a history of stealing from Walmart lived, police reported.
The man was seen on surveillance footage in the store, allegedly prying loose the brackets that hold display laptops on a cabinet. He walked away from the laptops but then returned and allegedly put two laptops under his clothing, the report said.
He then allegedly left the store with the laptops, which are valued at $858, the report said.
Eureka Police Capt. David Wilson said a warrant accusing the man of stealing has been issued.
