Eureka Police are trying to identify a woman who was reportedly seen slashing a tire on an SUV in the Six Flags parking lot. The woman reportedly argued with owner of the SUV, and she left the park in a dark blue 2018 Ford Fusion, police reported.
A woman told police at about 6:15 p.m. July 23 she was walking to her car outside of the amusement park, 4900 Six Flags Road, when she saw another woman crouching by the front right tire of a 2018 Ford Expedition. She said she saw the other woman stab the tire with a knife before getting into a car that sped out of the parking lot, the report said.
The witness told police she did not get a good look at the woman who allegedly slashed the tire. She said a man was driving the Fusion, which Eureka Police identified as being in the area at the time of the property damage by using Flock license plate-reading cameras, according to the report.
The owner of the Expedition, a 39-year-old O’Fallon, Mo., man, was not in the parking lot when the incident was reported, and an officer left a business card under one of the SUV’s windshield wipers. The SUV’s owner came to the Police Station at about 8:30 p.m. that day to discuss the damage, Eureka Police reported.
The victim told investigators he arrived at the park between 3:30 and 4 p.m. and had pulled into a spot next to a Ford Fusion. He said the man and woman who were in the car yelled at him to find another spot because they were saving the space next to them for one of their friends, the report said.
The man said the other man driving the Fusion cursed at him and threw a soda bottle at his SUV. He said he walked away from the two people in the Fusion and did not leave Six Flags until the park closed for the day, according to the report.
The owner of the SUV has not provided an estimated cost to repair or replace the damaged tire, Eureka Police reported.
As of July 28, the man and woman in the Fusion have not been identified, Capt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
