Recent thefts from three unlocked vehicles have Eureka Police urging residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and then keep the vehicles locked.
Eureka Police Lt. Michael Werges said the three thefts do not appear to be related, but medication was among the items stolen in each of the incidents, which occurred between Oct. 8 through Oct. 21.
In each case, valuables had been left in the vehicles and the vehicles had been left unlocked, Werges said.
Between Oct. 8 and Oct. 17, a 42-year-old Eureka woman’s 2012 Toyota Camry was rummaged through outside an apartment complex on Nicklaus Circle Drive. A pink and white quilt diaper bag that contained medication was stolen. The woman told police the medication was worth $3, Eureka Police reported.
Overnight between Oct. 16 and Oct. 17, a 62-year-old Eureka man’s wallet and medication were stolen from a 2014 Ford Fusion parked outside a home in the 500 block of Hilltop Townes Drive. The wallet and medication were valued at $110, the report said.
On Oct. 21, police were called to a home in the 100 block of South Virginia Avenue when a 40-year-old Eureka man’s 2015 Jeep Cherokee was rummaged through. The man said $50 in cash and medication valued at $50 were stolen, according to a report.
As of Nov. 6, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the incidents to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
