A 37-year-old Eureka man said a 10-gram gold bar he ordered was stolen from his mailbox in the 100 block of Windfall Way. The man said the bar is worth $688.03, Eureka Police reported.
The man reported the theft at about 12:15 p.m. June 5. He said his mailbox is part of community mailbox, but surveillance video does not show when the package was delivered or removed from the mailbox on that day, the report said.
As of June 8, the gold had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
