Eureka Police are investigating a recent burglary at St. Louis Vapor, 1739 W. Fifth St. Two people reportedly stole $745.82 worth of merchandise from the store, which sells electronic cigarettes and products, police reported.

Officers were called to the business at about 9:50 a.m. Aug. 15 after an employee arrived at work and noticed numerous items were missing. The employee said the store had closed at about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14, the report said.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed two people enter the store through an unlocked back door. Then, the suspects were seen stealing items and leaving through the same door, according to the report.

One of the suspects was wearing a blue ski mask, a white long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans and was carrying a black Nike backpack. The other suspect was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, a gray facemask, light blue jeans and light Nike tennis shoes, Eureka Police reported.

As of Aug. 28, none of the merchandise had been recovered, and the two people in the surveillance video had not been identified, Capt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
