Eureka Police are searching for a 25-year-old Eureka man after allegedly finding substances suspected of being fentanyl in his room at a home in the 5000 block of Mitschang Court. Officers allegedly found the drug when they went to the home to arrest the man on a felony warrant, police reported.
Officers went to the home at about 9 a.m. Dec. 10. The man who answered the door at the house said the man police were searching for was fishing and not in the home, the report said.
The man allowed the police to search the home for the wanted man. Officers allegedly found empty pill capsules and crushed pills in the room, according to the report.
The officers also allegedly saw two fishing poles in the room, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the man through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Capt. Michael Werges said.
He also said as of Dec. 19, the man had not been located.
