A 43-year-old Wildwood man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop. The man was stopped after he nearly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Central Avenue and East Fourth Street and turned onto East Fourth Street without using a turn signal, Eureka Police reported.
At about 1:35 a.m. March 8, an officer pulled over the 2011 Ford Explorer the man was driving in the parking lot of the QuickTrip gas station, 290 E. Fourth St. The man allegedly appeared to be intoxicated, and after he started performing field tests, he stopped and refused to perform any more of the tests, the report said.
The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released to a sober driver, according to the report.
The man was issued summonses to appear in Eureka Municipal Court for alleged DWI and failure to use his turn signal, Capt. Michael Werges said.
