Eureka Police arrested a 39-year-old Union man for alleged possession of an illegal substance after finding a syringe with liquid inside and a crystal-like substance inside a pickup the man was driving. An officer stopped the man due to the pickup not having license plates, police reported.
The officer stopped the 1993 Dodge Dakota at about 3:15 p.m. May 4 on Central Ave. The officer initially saw the Dakota driving south on Hwy. 109, the report said.
After stopping the man, the officer learned the man driving the pickup was driving with a revoked license and was wanted by the Florissant Police on active warrants, according to the report.
The man was arrested, and when an officer searched the pickup, he allegedly found the liquid-filled syringe inside a black purse and a bag that had a white crystal-like substance inside it, the report said.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending the application for a warrant, according to the report.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the man through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Lt. Michael Tapp said.
