A 35-year-old Pacific woman was arrested at the Circle K gas station, 100 Old Towne Drive, in Eureka for alleged possession of methamphetamine. Officers found the woman after Flock license plate-reading cameras alerted officers that the car she was driving had possibly been stolen, police reported.

At about 7:15 p.m. April 24, officers were notified that the 1996 Hyundai Accent was inside the city. The initial notification indicated the car may have been stolen, but later it was determined the car had not been stolen but the woman was wanted on warrants from the Chesterfield and Pacific police departments, the report said.

The officer saw the Accent in the gas station’s parking lot, stopped behind the car and turned on his lights. The officer confirmed the woman had active warrants for her arrest, according to the report.

The officer arrested the woman, and she asked the officer to get her purse from the car. When the officer searched the purse, he allegedly found a black box containing four bags filled with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth. The woman also told the officer there was a bag that contained three smoking pipes in the car and the officer found the bag and pipes, the report said.

The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and held for one of the other law enforcement agencies that wanted her, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Lt. Michael Werges said.
