A 22-year-old Eureka man could be facing a charge for possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities were called to his home twice in five days when he allegedly overdosed on drugs, Eureka Police reported.

Authorities were first called to his home in the 100 block of Rockwood at 9:20 a.m. March 31 when the 22-year-old was found sitting on a mattress in a bedroom with a clear syringe on the floor next to him. The man was awake when authorities arrived, and he was transported by the Eureka Fire Protection District to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, the report said.

Authorities received a second 911 call to the same address at 11:27 p.m. April 4, and that time the 22-year-old was found unconscious. Police administered two doses of Narcan, and the man woke up and started breathing on his own before being transported to St. Clare, according to the report.

Eureka Police will apply for a warrant against the 22-year-old for possession of drug paraphernalia related to the March incident through the Eureka Municipal Court, Capt. David Wilson said.
