Imperial woman allegedly attacks another woman to get car keys

Erica Meyer

Erica Rose Meyer, 31, has been charged for allegedly attacking and stealing keys from a woman she lives with at an Imperial home. Meyer was arrested while sitting in the car outside the home, according to court documents.

On Dec. 1, Meyer was charged with first-degree robbery, a class A felony; first-degree domestic assault resulting in serious physical injury, a class A felony; and first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony. Class A felonies are punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison, and a class B felony carries a penalty of five to 15 years in prison.

As of Dec. 10, Meyer was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.

On Dec. 1, Meyer woke up a woman she lives with and demanded keys to a 2017 Toyota Camry. When the woman would not give her the keys, Meyer allegedly threw the woman out of bed, kicked her in the face and ribs, hit her with a cell phone, dragged the woman across the room and choked her, the case’s probable-cause statement said.

The woman told Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she threw the keys across the room to stop the alleged attack. When deputies arrived at the home, they allegedly found Meyer in the Camry with the car’s engine running, according to the report.

The report said the woman had three fractured ribs and multiple other injuries.
