An engine and a log splitter recently were stolen from outside a home in the 1700 block of Fawn Circle in the Pacific area. The theft was reported about 10 a.m. March 18, after the victim found the items missing from his backyard, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
A Honda engine and a red and black 22-ton log splitter were stolen. Together, the items were valued at $1,000, the report said.
During the investigation, a neighbor told deputies she saw a red SUV near the home and a man walking in the backyard during the period the items were stolen, according to the report.
The stolen items had not been recovered as of March 23, and there were no suspects or arrests either, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
