A car was stolen from the driveway of a home in the 800 block of Thousand Pines Drive in unincorporated Fenton. The theft happened about 2:20 a.m. May 13, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
According to the report, a man inside the house heard a noise outside, looked out the front door and saw the 2003 Dodge Neon SXT being backed out of the driveway. The man woke the vehicle owner and told him what happened.
The victim told investigators he had “recent issues with subjects attempting to gain access to the vehicle,” but was uncertain who may have stolen it. It is not known how the thief got inside the car, and the victim said he was certain the vehicle was locked, the report said.
The car was valued at $5,000. As of May 31, it had not been recovered, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
No arrests had been made, he added. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
