The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking charges against a 34-year-old Antonia man and a 35-year-old Imperial man for alleged drug possession after a deputy found suspected illegal narcotics in a pickup they were traveling in on East Swallow Road in Imperial, police reported.
Just after midnight on May 9, the deputy saw a 1994 Ford F-150 that did not have a license plate driving on East Swallow Road near Rhonda Sue Drive. After stopping the pickup, the deputy believed the men were nervous and asked to search the F-150, the report said.
The deputy allegedly found a bag containing suspected drugs under the seat, and numerous capsules floating in a cup that was in a cupholder, according to the report.
The deputy seized the suspected illegal substances and released the two men at the scene, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, the Sheriff’s Office will seek charges against the men through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Capt. Matt Moore said.
