A 42-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both of De Soto, were arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The pair was arrested at about 10:20 a.m. Aug. 15 outside a QuikTrip gas station, Arnold Police reported.
Officers were called to the gas station, 1069 Jeffco Blvd., because it appeared the man and woman were getting ready to abandon a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup in the parking lot. The two allegedly were seen transferring items from the pickup into another one – a 2002 Dodge Dakota, the report said.
When officers arrived, the pair was in the F-150, and the license plates on it were not registered to the Ford. Officers searched the man’s backpack and allegedly found a scale with a white powdery residue on it, according to the report.
A police dog was called to the gas station, and it alerted the officers to the possible presence of drugs inside the F-150. While searching the pickup, officers allegedly found drug paraphernalia, and the woman allegedly was found with plastic bags containing clear capsules filled with a white powder substance, Arnold Police reported.
The two were arrested and taken to the Police Station, where they were booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the two through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said.
