A 36-year-old De Soto man and a 35-year-old House Springs man recently were arrested in connection with the theft of a van from Big River Pizza in the 6100 block of Mall Drive in Cedar Hill. The theft was reported about 9:30 p.m. May 29, and the men were arrested and the van was recovered the next day in De Soto, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The victim told deputies that she worked at the restaurant and was making deliveries when the van was stolen. She said that she had returned to the restaurant after a delivery and left the vehicle unlocked with the keys in the ignition and the engine running while she went inside the business to get another order to deliver and when she returned to the vehicle, it was gone, the report said.
The van was valued at $3,000. It has been returned to the owner, the Sheriff’s Office reports.
