Arnold Police recently arrested a 31-year-old De Soto man for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, drug possession and resisting arrest.
At 11:44 p.m. March 23, an Arnold Police officer was on patrol and saw a traffic accident at Jeffco Boulevard and Hwy. 141. The officer walked up to the vehicle to check on the De Soto man, who was driving, and he allegedly tried to hide some white capsules that appeared to be heroin, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
In addition, the man refused to get out of the vehicle and had to be forcefully removed from it. While the man allegedly was resisting arrest, he sustained a “minor head injury” and was transported by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County for evaluation and possible treatment, according to the report.
At the hospital, the man refused to submit a blood sample. Depending on results from the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Jones said.
