Four people were arrested in two traffic stops in Crystal City on Feb. 12. One of the stops netted 11 bags of what is believed to be methamphetamine.
That incident occurred at 3 p.m. when officers stopped a 36-year-old St. Louis man for driving on the wrong side of Crystal Heights Roads near Missouri Avenue.
“The man has a warrant for a parole violation,” said Crystal City Police Capt. Chad Helms, the interim chief. “During the investigation, officers found numerous syringes and 11 bags we believe to be meth, and a small amount of marijuana.”
They arrested two passengers – a Barnhart woman, 40, and a Hillsboro woman, 24 – who were both on probation for possession of a controlled substance.
All three were released pending the application for warrants for felony possession of a controlled substance.
The second stop occurred in the 1200 block of North Truman Boulevard. The driver was a 28-year-old St. Louis man who had outstanding warrants for traffic violations.
He was taken to the Crystal City jail where it was determined he had marijuana hidden under his clothing.
Helms said possession of marijuana charges will be sought, as well as a second class D felony for being in possession of narcotics in a jail facility. A class D felony carries a sentence of up to four years.
