A computer and tools recently were stolen from a work van parked at a home in the 3600 block of Antonia Woods Drive in the Antonia area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Between 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23 and 7:15 a.m. Aug. 24, someone got inside the unlocked Huffman Security work van and stole an HP laptop computer; a Craftsman socket set; a Dremel multi tool and accessories; a Bosch hammer drill with a case and drill bits; a DeWalt hammer drill with a case and drill bits; a Porter-Cable angle grinder; a Porter-Cable circular saw; a Porter-Cable reciprocating saw; and a DeWalt right-angle drill with case and accessories. In all, the items were valued at $1,500, the report said.
The victim told deputies he had returned home from work at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 23 and the computer and tools were in the van. The next morning, after he drove the van to work at a location in Jefferson Square in De Soto, he realized the equipment was missing, according to the report.
As of Tuesday (Sept. 13), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said.
He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
