The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking charges against a 27-year-old Imperial man in connection with a theft from a home in the 3700 block of Rim Road in Imperial, says Capt. Ron Arnhart.

Between Aug. 10 and Aug. 11, someone stole a gold and diamond engagement ring and a Samsung Galaxy tablet from the house. Together the ring and tablet were valued at $1,400, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim told deputies she suspected a family member, the report said.

In addition, the victim said she confronted the family member about the theft, and he assaulted her, grabbing her by the arm and pushing her to the ground, according to the report.

As of today (Aug. 21), no charges had been filed, Arnhart said.
