Kevin C. McArthur, 39, of Cedar Hill was sentenced to 10 years in prison after felony drug charges and probation violations, according to court records.

In April 2013, McArthur was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 6400 block of Windshadow Drive in Cedar Hill and was found with nine white pills, identified as Lorazepam, a controlled substance, a probable-cause statement said.

He pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, in November 2014 and was sentenced to seven years in prison. However, in April 2015, after McArthur completed a 120-day treatment program, he was released on five years’ probation, and the sentence was suspended, the report said.

In June 2014, authorities searched a home McArthur was staying at on Cedar Hill Estates in Cedar Hill, and they found a black gym bag filled with numerous plastic bottles that contained an acid or other liquid or a chemical residue or odor, as well as coffee filters, plastic measuring cups, hand tools, charcoal lighter fluid and drain cleaner, all items commonly used to make methamphetamine, a probable-cause statement said.

During the interview, McArthur allegedly admitted in a written statement that he had purchased chemicals for methamphetamine cooks in exchange for either money or meth, according to the report.

In January 2015, McArthur pleaded guilty to trafficking drugs in the second degree, a class B felony, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but that sentence also was suspended in April 2015, and he got five years’ probation, according to court records.

However, on Oct. 4, 2017, McArthur violated his probation, and on Dec. 19, 2017, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Mark T. Stoll executed the 10- and seven-year sentences. The two sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time, court documents said.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Trisha C. Stefanski handled the cases.

McArthur previously pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance, each one a class C felony, stemming from a May 2012 incident in Lincoln County , court records said. He pleaded guilty to the charge in March 2014 and was sentenced to five years in prison, but the sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years’ probation, a report said.

McArthur currently is in the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
