Eureka Police are looking for three men suspected of stealing catalytic converters off a car and an SUV parked at the Hwy. 66 and Six Flags Road commuter lot, Eureka Police reported.
A witness called police at about 1:55 p.m. April 14 after he allegedly saw three men wearing black face masks under and around a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis and a 2015 Buick Enclave at the lot. When an officer arrived at about 2 p.m., the three men were gone, the report said.
The witness said the men left in a silver four-door sedan with black rims on the rear tires and copper rims with white spokes on the front tires, according to the report.
Converters were cut off the Mercury and Buick, but no other items were stolen. The cost to replace the converters was estimated at $1,000 for each vehicle, the report said.
As of April 23, the men had not been identified, and the converters had not been recovered, Lt. Michael Werges said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
