For the second time in less than a month, someone walked behind the counter and stole a cash drawer from the CVS store, 2120 Lone Star Drive, in Arnold, according to Arnold Police.
At about 10:15 p.m. Jan. 9, three men entered the CVS, and one allegedly stole candy, another allegedly stole liquor and two of the men walked behind the counter and took the cash drawer. In all, the cash and other stolen items totaled $595.05, the report said.
The report did not indicate whether an employee was behind the counter when the men allegedly stole the cash drawer, Capt. Brett Ackermann said.
The men left the store’s parking lot in a black passenger car. The cash drawer, which had a tracker on it, was found north of Reavis Barracks Road on I-55 in the St. Louis area, the report said.
The drug store also was robbed on Dec. 11, when an employee was working behind the counter and a man allegedly took drawers out of two registers. A woman who was with him allegedly stole three bottles of liquor, police reported, police reported.
One of the drawers was empty, but the other one had $581 in it, including a stack of 25 $1 bills that had a tracking device. The device was located at the QuikTrip gas station at 4450 Meramec Bottom Road in south St. Louis County, just north of Arnold, the report said.
The liquor the woman stole was valued at $120, according to the report.
Ackermann said the two incidents appeared to have been perpetrated by people in the same group, but as of Jan. 14, none of the stolen cash or other items had been recovered and no suspects had been identified. Anyone with information about the incidents should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
