A car with a gun inside was stolen from outside a home in the 1800 block of Valley Ridge Drive in Imperial. The car, a white 2019 Hyundai Elantra, was valued at about $18,000, and the gun inside the car, a .380 Ruger pistol, was worth about $400, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim said he parked his car in his driveway at about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and discovered it missing at about 6:45 a.m. Aug. 8. The man said he left his car unlocked, but he had taken his keys with him inside the house, the report said.
As of Aug. 15, the car and gun had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
