A car stolen outside the Avion Ridge Apartments in Arnold was recovered later near Hematite. The car, a 2013 Sonic, was stolen early in the morning on Jan. 24 and was found later the same day in the 3900 block of Hwy. P in the Hematite area, Arnold Police reported.
The car, which had been left unlocked with the engine running, was stolen between 4 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. outside the apartment building at 1775 Avion Ridge Drive. The victim said a white male wearing a gray beanie and a dark hoodie took the car. When the car was recovered, it did not appear damaged, the report said.
Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said police have identified a 38-year-old Hillsboro man as a suspect and as of Feb. 11 were trying to contact him. Anyone with information about the incident should contact Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
