A 2020 Mercedes Benz stolen from Elite Motors STL, 5231 Hwy. 61-67, in Imperial was set on fire and burned in St. Louis. The car was worth about $80,000, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
An employee parked the car outside the dealership at about 6 p.m. Jan. 17, and the car was discovered stolen at about 10:55 a.m. Jan. 18. Investigators were told the keys were not left in the car and the doors were locked, the report said.
On Jan. 24, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department found the burned Mercedes. As of Jan. 25, no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
