The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of car from outside a home in the 2100 block of Horine Road north of Festus. The 2016 Ford Fiesta was valued at about $8,000, authorities reported.
The victim said she had left the keys inside the car and the doors unlocked when she parked it outside her home. She said at about 12:15 a.m. Oct. 9 she heard the car start and saw it being driven away north on Horine Road, with a black following it, according to the report.
As of Oct. 19, the car had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
