The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a burglary that caused $3,000 in damage to wood flooring in a home in the 5700 block of Glade Chapel Road in the Hillsboro area.

Between 5 p.m. Oct. 23 and noon Oct. 24, someone entered the home through a rear glass sliding door and stole some hand tools and about $20 in copper wire and caused about $150 in damage to an air-conditioning unit, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

During the burglary, the culprit damaged some water pipe, flooding the kitchen floor, the report said.

Deputies seized a pair of latex gloves that did not belong to the victim and were left at the scene, and they will be processed for DNA, according to the report.

As of Oct. 31, there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He urges anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
