Glen Edwards Brown, 39, formerly of Arnold, was sentenced to 15 years in prison following a felony drug charge and probation violations, according to court documents.
In March 2011, Brown was found trying to make meth in a camper in the 8800 block of Big Bend Road in Dittmer, a probable-cause statement said.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced in September 2012 to 15 years. But, after completing a treatment program, he was released in April 2014 on five years’ probation and the sentence was suspended, court documents indicate.
However, Brown violated the probation, and in December 2015, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Then, he was released in December 2016, and again he got five years’ probation and the sentence was suspended, court records show.
Brown, who most recently lived in St. Louis, violated the probation again, though, and on March 23, Jefferson County Div. 2 Circuit Judge Darrell E. Missey sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Trisha C. Stefanski handled the case.
Another defendant – Amanda Lee Grill of Imperial – also was charged with attempting to manufacture meth in connection with the March 2011 incident. She pleaded guilty to the felony drug charge, and in February 2013, she was sentenced to five years, but the sentence was suspended and she got five years’ probation, court paper show.
However, Grill violated the probation, and in January 2016, the five-year sentence was executed. She was released in May 2016, though, after completing a treatment program, and again she got five years’ probation and the sentence was suspended, the report said.
Brown also is facing a charge for felony first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle stemming from a Sept. 3, 2017, incident in Jefferson County.
In addition, Brown has previous felony convictions, including one for possession of a controlled substance connected to a January 2011 incident in St. Louis County.
He currently is in the Eastern Reception Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
