A Bobcat skid steer loader caught fire and was damaged May 6 in Dittmer.
The Cedar Hill Fire Protection District was called at 11:03 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene at 6500 Wilderness Lane at 11:13 p.m., they found the Bobcat on fire, sitting on a trailer, Fire Chief Terry Soer said.
Both the loader and the trailer were damaged in the fire, with the loader’s damage estimated at $10,000 and the trailer’s damage at $1,500, Soer said.
The wood decking on the 2002 Branson trailer was burned and two tires on the driver’s side of the trailer also were burned, Soer said.
Firefighters easily extinguished the fire, he said.
“They were able to handle it with the water on the truck,” Soer said.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Firefighters “could not determine the ignition source,” Soer said.
Firefighters left the scene at 12:22 a.m. Saturday morning (May 7).
