Jane E. Birkenbach, 71, of Arnold died in a crash Thursday, Oct. 3, on Jeffco Boulevard at Village Plaza in Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:50 p.m., Birkenbach was driving an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Malibu when she reportedly failed to yield to a southbound 2011 Dodge Ram driven by Nathon L. Wilson, 40, of Barnhart. Birkenbach pulled into the path of the Dodge, which struck the left side of the Chevrolet, the report said.
Rock Township Ambulance personnel pronounced Birkenbach dead at the scene at 1:23 p.m., the report said. The body was taken by Superior Mortuary Transport to St. Louis County Morgue.
Wilson had minor injuries and was taken by private conveyance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
According to a hospital spokesman, Wilson was treated and released.
Birkenbach was not wearing a seat belt, and Wilson was, the report said. Both vehicles were totaled.
