The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Billie Jean Claeys, 43, of St. Louis with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, after she was allegedly found with fentanyl following an arrest at an Arnold gas station, court records show.
Claeys was arrested Nov. 12, and as of Nov. 15, she was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court documents.
Arnold Police on Feb. 21 were called to the Circle K gas station to check the welfare of a woman. When an officer arrived, he found Claeys and learned she was wanted by the St. Louis Police on a warrant for drug possession, the case’s probable-cause statement said.
The officer arrested Claeys and brought her to the Police Station. The officer asked Claeys if she had any illegal substances before bringing her to the Police Station, and she allegedly said she did not, the report said.
A female Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was called to the Police Station to search Claeys. The deputy allegedly found a capsule under Claeys’ shirt, according to the report.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tested the contents of the capsule and on July 7, identified the substance as fentanyl, according to the report.
