Batteries and other items recently were stolen from a Charter Communications power supply cabinet in the 4000 block of Schenk Road in Barnhart. The theft happened about 12:25 a.m. Feb. 3, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
A maintenance technician for the company got a call about an outage alarm at the site, and when he arrived there, he discovered that someone had forced open the cabinet door and stole the items, the report said.
Three alpha cell batteries and a copper battery cable were stolen. The damage to the cabinet and the stolen items were estimated at $800, according to the report.
As of Wednesday (Feb. 8), the stolen items had not been recovered. There were no suspects or arrest either, Capt. Gary Higginbotham said.
