A Barnhart woman is facing several felony charges for allegedly stabbing a man, woman and a dog in her home on Christmas Eve, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Lisa M. Albrecht, 48, of Barnhart has been charged with first-degree assault, a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison; second-degree assault, a class D felony that carries a penalty up to seven years in prison; animal abuse and unlawful use of a weapon, both class E felonies punishable by up to four years in prison; and three counts of armed criminal action, each one an unclassified felony punishable by three to 15 years in prison.

Albrecht was being held without bond this morning, Dec. 26, in the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, to Albrecht’s home in the 1900 block of Parkton Way.

A man who lived with Albrecht reportedly heard Albrecht throwing things around in the kitchen and walked from his bedroom to the front room, where Albrecht allegedly stabbed him in his calf, torso, chest, back and shoulder blade before he was able to run out of the home, the probable-cause statement in the case said.

The man said the two had not been arguing prior to the alleged stabbing, although the woman had been talking about demons and going to hell, the report said.

Another woman who was inside the home said she heard Albrecht breaking things and yelling for everyone to leave. The woman said she told Albrecht she was willing to leave before the man came out of the bedroom and told Albrecht to calm down. Albrecht calmed down momentarily and then stabbed the man, the report said.

The other woman in the home said her juvenile granddaughter was with her and was told to call 911. The woman’s hand was cut while she tried to take the knife from Albrecht, according to the report.

At some point during the incident, Albrecht allegedly stabbed a dog in the house multiple times.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the other woman was not taken to a hospital. The dog was taken to an emergency vet clinic.

The man’s condition is unknown, but the dog was treated and is expected to be released today, Dec. 26, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said.
