A Ballwin man was injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday evening (Dec. 24) on southbound I-55 in the Festus area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
About 6:30 p.m. Kenneth M. Dunlap, 60, Fenton was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup southbound on the highway north of Hwy. 61 when he began to slow down to go to the shoulder. The F-250 was struck from behind by a 2019 Nissan Frontier pickup driven southbound by Christopher R. Toomey, 43, Ballwin.
Toomey was taken by Joachim-Platting Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with moderate injuries.
Both pickups were totaled and both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
