An all-terrain vehicle and tools recently were stolen from a storage garage in the 1500 block of Hwy. AA in the Festus area. The theft was reported on Sept. 11 and probably happened sometime in the two days prior to that, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
It looked like the thief pried off a deadbolt lock on the garage to get inside and then stole the items. A green 2000 Yamaha Big Bear ATV and miscellaneous power tools were stolen. Altogether, they valued at $3,000, the report said.
Deputies found a glove, bag and plastic straw at the scene that did not belong to the victim and entered them as evidence, according to the report.
The stolen items had not been recovered as of Sept. 19. There were no suspects or arrests either, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said.
He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
