A 2011 Can-Am ATV was stolen two days after it was left in a wooded area near Sigman Lane south of Ware about 100 yards away from the owner’s home. The victim told deputies his son was riding the ATV when it ran out of gas and was left in the woods, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The son left the ATV in wooded area on July 2 Lane, and it was sill there on July 3. The owner said he went to get the ATV on July 4, but it was gone. There were tire tracks leading from where the ATV was left to the road, the report said.
As of July 12, the ATV, which was valued at about $9,000, had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the theft should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
