A 65-year-old Arnold woman told authorities two men held her at knifepoint at her home on Key West Drive and stole $12,000 from her. The woman also said that before the men left, one of them told her if she contacted the police, they would return and kill her, Arnold Police reported.

The woman said between midnight and 1:30 a.m. May 5, someone knocked on her door and when she answered, two men wearing all black and covering most of their faces with masks forced their way into her house, the report said.

One man allegedly grabbed the woman, and the other man held a knife to her throat and told her to give them all her money. The men found a safe in the house, and they allegedly forced the woman to open it, according to the report.

One of the men reportedly took two envelopes from the safe that contained a total of $15,000. He dropped one of the envelopes that contained $3,000, but he and the other man allegedly got away with $12,000, Arnold Police reported.

The woman told authorities she didn’t know anyone who would have known she kept the money in a safe at her home. She also said she did not know anyone who would want to rob her, the report said.

As of May 13, police had not identified the alleged robbers, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
