A 29-year-old Arnold woman recently was arrested for allegedly using a car she was driving to strike a man, breaking his leg. Her passenger, a 33-year-old Arnold man, also was arrested. The incident occurred about 5:15 p.m. May 25 at the Phillips 66 gas station, 501 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, says Detective Sgt. James Jones of the Arnold Police Department.
Jones said the Arnold woman and man knew the victim and were having a dispute with him at the gas station. The 33-year-old man allegedly had a “physical altercation” with the victim and then the woman, driving a white Chevrolet Cavalier, allegedly ran into the victim and left the scene of the accident, headed south on Jeffco, Jones added.
The victim was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis for medical treatment, the report said.
Later, the suspects’ vehicle was located behind Imo’s in the 600 block of Jeffco, and the two suspects were taken into custody. The 33-year-old man was booked, issued a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for assault stemming from the physical altercation and released. The woman was booked and released pending application for warrants, Jones said.
Arnold Police will seek assault and leaving the scene charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. But, as of June 3, no charges had been filed, Jones said.
