An Arnold Police officer stopped a 35-year-old woman who appeared to be impaired while riding a bicycle in the city. The officer ended up arresting the woman for alleged possession of methamphetamine and other drugs.

Arnold Police got a call at approximately 2:30 p.m. Oct. 4 about the woman, who reportedly was seen obstructing traffic while riding a bicycle on Missouri State Road near Lonedell Road. When the officer arrived in the area, though, he could not find the woman, the report said.

At about 3 p.m. that day, the officer returned to the area and saw the woman riding a bike on West Highview Drive near Lonedell Road and stopped her because she and the bike matched the description he police were contacted earlier that day. The officer allegedly found a substance believed to be meth, as well as capsules and pills, in a backpack the woman was carrying, according to the report.

The woman already was wanted on three misdemeanor warrants from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the report said.

She was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where she was booked and later released for medical reasons, according to the report.

Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
