woman in handcuffs

A 28-year-old Arnold woman was arrested after she allegedly was found in a stolen car with illegal drugs. She was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Tiger Express Car Wash, 1414 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, according to Arnold Police.

An Arnold Police officer spotted the woman inside a 2000 Honda Accord in the car wash parking lot. The car allegedly had been stolen from the 1000 block of Loughborough Avenue in St. Louis on Oct. 22, the report said.

The woman told the officer she had bought the car through Facebook Marketplace, and the vehicle title was later found inside the vehicle. However, the woman was wanted by the St. Louis Police, Sunset Hills Police and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on warrants for driving without insurance and by the St. Louis County Police for driving on the wrong side of the road, so she was arrested on the outstanding warrants, according to the report.

An officer searched the woman and allegedly found a smoking pipe and a plastic bag with a green-leafy substance believed to be marijuana in her pocket. In addition, police found a vial connected to a key chain in the center console, and the vial contained a white powdery substance believed to be heroin. There also was a brown glass bottle in the front passenger’s seat, and the bottle appeared to contain liquid THC. Officers also allegedly found drug paraphernalia in the car, the report said.

The woman was taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and later released pending application for warrants, the report said.

Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree tampering and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Lt. Tom Leassner said.
