A 41-year-old Arnold woman recently was arrested for allegedly stealing $1,454.89 in merchandise from the Target store, 3849 Vogel Road, in Arnold. The shoplifting incident occurred at 8:38 a.m. Aug. 14, when the woman stole Fitbits and similar items, Arnold Police Detective Lt. James Jones said.
After the theft was reported, the woman, who reportedly had previously stolen those kinds of items at area Target stores, was identified as the suspect, and Arnold Police listed her as wanted. Later, she was arrested for allegedly shoplifting at a Target store in Fairview Heights, Ill., and Arnold Police went there and interviewed her, Jones said.
He said the woman admitted to stealing the items at the Arnold Target store, so she was arrested for that. Arnold Police will seek felony stealing charges against her through the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Jones said.
