A 30-year-old Arnold woman was arrested for alleged possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia at Wood Spring Suites in Arnold. The woman was arrested after an officer was tipped off about possible drug use at the hotel, 888 Arnold Commons Drive, while he was investigating an abandoned U-Haul truck left there, Arnold Police reported.
At about 1 p.m. Dec. 7, an officer entered the hotel to ask employees about the truck, which had been left on the parking lot for a few about three days. The officer checked the truck’s license plate and learned it had been reported stolen from the Bob’s 66 Service, an auto repair and U-Haul rental business in Maryland Heights. The truck was towed back to the business, the report said.
During the investigation, a member of the housekeeping staff told the officer that a woman staying at the hotel had a bag full of syringes. The officer discovered the woman who had rented the room was wanted in St. Louis on a warrant for misdemeanor trespassing, according to the report.
The officer went to the room and allegedly found pills and drug paraphernalia there. The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Rich Shular said. He said police were still investigating who left the truck in the parking lot.
